Born in England in 1837, Samuel Walker exhibited at the Royal Academy in London during 1850-52. He then immigrated to New York City where he exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1853-54.
An itinerant artist, he worked in New Orleans in 1860-61 and Philadelphia in 1865-68. Moving to San Francisco in 1869, he was active there until 1873.
His works include landscapes, portraits, and seascapes.
