| Born in Earlville, IL on March 8, 1894. At age two Willard moved to Corona, CA with his parents. When he was 16 he was given his first camera and began traveling to the nearby mountains and deserts. In 1922 he moved to Palm Springs and then traveled great distances, by car and burro, in search of the perfect locations in which to capture the beauty of the area. His last 20 years were spent in Owens Valley, CA. Exhibitions of his hand-painted photographs were held at the Desert Inn Gallery a (showing 500 of 1101 characters). |
