Tom Muir Wilson was born December 6, 1930 in Bellaire Ohio and died, June 7, 2011 in Bellaire, New York.

During his career he held the following positions: Designer of exhibition galleries, George Eastman House Museum Photography, 1961-62; Freelance photographer and graphic designer, New York, Rochester & Minneapolis, from 1961; Art professor and Instructor in photography and graphic design, Minneapolis School Art; Photography Instructor, Rochester Institute of Technology; Instructor in sculpture & design, Nazareth College Rochester. When he was teaching in Minneapolis, he lived in Burnsville.

He studied at the West Virginia Institute Technology; Cranbrook Academy Art (B.F.Art); and Rochester Institute Technology where he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree.

Solo exhibition venues included: Rochester, New York and Wheeling, West Virginia, 1957, 1959 & 1961; Boston Art Festival, 1961; Photography Exhibition, George Eastman House, Rochester, New York, 1963;

Among group exhibitions were the Western New York annual, Buffalo, 1963 & 1964; and Art of Two Cities, Minneapolis, 1965; Art Institute American Institute Architects, 1956 (award for sculpture); and Philadelphia Print Club, 1961 where he was given a prize.
