| Born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 4, 1902. At age 15 Wishart entered the Royal Naval Reserve College and then joined the British Merchant Marines which took him all over the world. Arriving in the U.S. in 1920, he lived in New York, Chicago, and Canada until 1922 when he settled in San Francisco. By 1929 he had chosen an art career and remained self-taught except for a brief period of instruction under Nelson Poole. During the Depression, he opened the Artist's Supper Club in North Beach wh (showing 500 of 754 characters). |
