| Painter. Born in Fukushima, Japan in 1886.
Watanabe studied at the Manchu School of Art in Tokyo. After immigrating to the US., he further studied at the Academic School in Denver and the ASL in NYC.
He painted for nine years in the Woodstock art colony in Connecticut before moving to Los Angeles in 1927.
