Born in Sunshine, CO on June 2, 1876.
As an infant Vonna Owings traveled by stagecoach with her parents to Deer Lodge, MT where she grew up and was educated. When she was six Lillian Hudson, an artist from New York, came to live with her family and gave Vonna her first painting and drawing lessons.
She later studied at the College of Montana and in 1895 traveled to San Francisco where she studied for one year with Chris Jorgensen. She then furthered her art studies in Chi (showing 500 of 1485 characters). |
