This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Wade White, a Precisionist painter was born in Waterury, CT. White graduated from Yale in 1933 before studying at the Art Student's League and Columbia in NYC. He is perhaps better known for his 17 years as Archivist at the Fogg Art Museum of Harvard University than for the body of his precisionist works from the 1930s. The meticulous and deliberate evolution of his major works in oil is amply documented in numerous drawings and watercolors. The skyscrapers of Manhattan and scenes of Gloucester, Rockport and Cape Cod, MA, dominate the landscapes of this recently rediscovered painter.
