Growing up the daughter of immigrant parents in a community that embraced diversity, Wendy Wilkerson continues to celebrate multi-culturalism in her personal life and art.
Today, Wilkerson, who is married to a Native American, lives in Washington, DC and finds the city's international spirit and population an inspiration for her art. She is known for her gouache on rice paper symbolic images of women, children and crows. She intends the women to represent Mother Earth; the children to rep (showing 500 of 813 characters). |
