The following is from Find a Grave:

The well known artist from Gothenburg Spiros Xenos died Jan 21, (1963).  He was born in Athens in 1881 and has lived in our country since 1913, for a long time as a Swedish citizen.  Xenos left the Athens Arts Academy after six years of successful studies having received the best leaving grade and in 1903 he won a scholarship that gave him opportunity to study in places like Munich and Paris.  In Paris he opened a studio and received a great deal of attention.

A short time before World War I he arrived in Gothenburg for a brief visit, but had to stay because of the war, and has since then been active here, painting landscapes and portraits.  Spiros was not only a skilful painter, and highly regarded for this in artist circles, but he was an extremely amiable human being, free from hard judgement and the desire to take advantage of others.  Faith had decided that this descendant of Hellas, in possession of Grecian clarity and broad-mindedness became a devoted 'west coast citizen' in our barren country. (West coast people rate themselves highly and are in fact special – a respected kind of Swedes, living close to the Sea).  He came for a short visit but stayed all throughout his life. He became especially captivated by the archipelago of Bohuslän (the province) and found many of his motifs there.

His death left a bereaved wife, two sons, a married daughter with grandchildren and a brother living in the USA and a sister living in Athens." Translation by Lennart and Bjorn Haglund
