This biography from the Archives of AskART:
An illustrator for both the "Chicago Tribune" and the "Denver Times" and for numerous magazines, Ellsworth Young was also a landscape painter. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago with O.D. Grover and John Vanderpoel. He was a member of the Chicago Painters and Sculptors and the Oak Park River Forest Art League.

The following is from Peyton Stein.

The artist Ellsworth Young has descendents in the Chicago area. A
granddaughter is an artist as well as two great grandsons working as artists
in Brooklyn, NY and St. Paul, MN. Mr. Young's son in law was also a talented
artist. Mr Young's ties with the Tribune has also trickled down generation
to generation with a great granddaughter currently employed with the
newspaper.
