This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is supplied by Chuck Reynolds who quotes his 87 year old mother in law and 93 year old father in law.

"Around 1951 Jack came to our little community church in Yacolt, Washington as a supply pastor.  He would illustrate his Bible stories with chalk drawings, and his sermons put my dearest and closest friend under deep conviction.  But our church was not large enough to pay him enough to support his wife and family so he would sell his paintings to the public.

After leaving Yacolt he went to the Seattle area and worked with Boeing in their silk screening shop.  Later he lived in California.  On one of his trips to visit he left us a large oil as a gift.  It is dated 1949 and measures approximately 36 inch by 40 inch.  Don't think he mentioned if  he had given it a title or name;  it is a landscape of a mill and waterwheel in moonlight."
