| Born in Alabama in 1894 his neighbor was Booker T Washington. Nathan Young attended Florida A & M and Yale Law School. He settled in St Louis and practiced law from 1928-1965. In 1965 he was the first Africa-American to be appointed a municipal court judge in St Louis. He painted and wrote in his retirement.
