| Born in Stockton, CA on Sept. 2, 1878. After graduating from Stockton High School, Yardley studied in San Francisco at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute and Partington Art School. In 1898 he took his first job as a quick-sketch artist for the San Francisco Examiner. In 1900 he continued in this line of work in Hawaii for the Honolulu Advertiser. The years 1905-07 were spent in NYC in the art department of the Globe; he then worked for the San Francisco Call. In 1921 he returned to his native c (showing 500 of 1044 characters). |
