Known for his scenes of southern California, especially close ups of buildings and street scenes, Suong Yangchareon spends much time driving the back roads of the Los Angeles area in the early morning when people are barely awake and the pace is slow. He calls these trips his "urban safaris" and paints in his studio from the resulting photographs that are taken because of special textures, colors, and designs.
Yangchareon is from Lampang, Thailand and as a child in the 1950s saw hundreds (showing 500 of 1231 characters). |
