| Born in Alameda, CA on Aug. 20, 1917. Yamamoto majored in art at UC Berkeley under Erle Loran and John Haley who influenced his future work. He was active in the art scene of the San Francisco Bay area during the 1930s. With the advent of WWII, he was interned in a concentration camp in Utah. While there, he contributed work to the camp magazine, Trek. Upon release in 1945, he moved to NYC and soon became an art instructor in Vermont. He was a resident of Honolulu, HI in 1996.
