|  From Litchfield, Connecticut, Tom Yost is a painter whose subjects
reflect in realist style his local rural landscape in Litchfield,
County, Connecticut, which is traditional New England scene and
reflects "working farms and open land."
He credits much of his skill to the education he has received over the
years from restoring paintings. From looking at works by American
Masters, he has learned which materials have the most endurance, and as
a result he paints with oil on Belgium linen treated with traditional
oil and quadruple-primed gesso.
