Biography from Butler Institute of American Art:
| Al Zere (born Alfred G. Ablitzer 1889-1968) was born in Brooklyn.
He studied at Brooklyn's Adelhi College Art School and after World War
I the Sorbonne.
He made his first sale at 15 to Judge magazine and afterwards to Puck and the Brooklyn Eagle.
He served in World War II with the American Expeditionary Force and illustrated the magazine The Martian. |
