| Boris Zherdin (b. 1950)
Boris Zherdin was born in Gomel, Belorussia, in 1950. He studied stage and costume design at the Serov Institute of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Perhaps influenced by his education, his paintings employ humor and read like staged theater images.
At the age of 38 Zherdin immigrated to the United States, moving to Leonard, New Jersey in 1988. Zherdin has worked as a freelance illustrator for Playboy Magazine, and has shown in numerous exhibitions, including the Bronx Museum of Art. His work is in private collections in the United States, Russia, Canada, Australia, Finland, and Germany.
