Ilya
Nikolaevich Zankovsky was born in 1843. Zankovsky studied at Imperial
Academy of Arts in 1862-1863, and then lived in Tiflis, Georgia. The
artist began exhibiting no later than 1888, and amongst others
organisations, he exhibited with the Society of Russian Watercolourists.
He taught at the art school of the Caucasian Society for Encouragement
of the Fine Arts, Tiflis, in the late 1880s-1910s.

Zankovski died in 1917.
