The self-taught artist Khalil Zgaib is considered one of the pioneers of modern Lebanese art. His paintings mainly depict crowd scenes, picked out in minute detail and recalling the work of Oriental miniaturists.
Some of his paintings are of festivals held in the Christian villages in Lebanon.
