From Ankeny, Iowa, Larry Zach was the featured artist at the Seventh Annual Wildlife Art Show of the Southern Illinois Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing, 1997. Six times he was named Artist of the Year in his home state of Iowa. In 1997, 1998 and 1999, he designed the Iowa Habitat Stamps and in 1997, he was the national wild Turkey Federation's Artist of the Year.
