| | Born in Venice, Italy on Jan. 12, 1905. Zava arrived in NYC in 1906. He studied there at the ASL before settling in Laguna Beach, CA in 1930. In 1938 he opened the Progressive Art Center in the Pomona Marine Laboratory in Laguna. Zava died there on April 11, 1988.
