This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Tamara Zahaykevich was raised in Maplewood, New Jersey. The daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Tamara remembers spending hours in her father's basement tool shop working with materials. Today Zahaykevich, a graduate of the Tyler School of Art, is known for her sculptures made from architectural foamcore. The artist carves, glues and spray paints the material to create everything from landscapes and pop culture motifs to architecture and junk food.
Zahaykevich has exhibited her work at Bellwether Gallery in Brooklyn and Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art.
