The following information was submitted by Charles Davidson and is based upon a conversation with her daughter, Dorothy Gibbs, of Estes Park, Colorado, on October 29, 2007.
Dorothy Carnine Scott lived in Lynchburg, Virginia, during the time her husband was professor of chemistry at Sweetbriar College, from 1927-1945. While in Lynchburg, she studied art around the year 1930 at the Lynchburg Art Club under the Amherst County, Virginia, artist, Elizabeth Hunt Barrett, originally from New York. Mrs. Scott is known for her lithographs as well as her primary medium, oils. After Lynchburg, she lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Mrs. Scott's mother had had an antique shop.
