Biography Dorothy Koppelman
Dorothy Koppelman attended the American Artists School and studied under Joseph Solman. She also studied with critic and poet Eli Siegel, the founder of Aesthetic Realism.
In 1955 Koppelman opened the Terrain Gallery. She was awarded a Tiffany Foundation Award in 1965. Dorothy Koppelman has exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, MoMA and the National Academy of Design. Her work is in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Koppelman taught at the National Academy of Design and she is on the faculty of the Aesthetic Realism Foundation.
