Biography Gerrit Van Sinclair
A painter and teacher at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1921 to the 1950s, Gerrit Van Sinclair was born in Grand Haven, Michigan. He studied with John Vanderpoel at the Art Institute of Chicago, and exhibited widely including the National Academy of Design, Corcoran Gallery Biennials, and Carnegie Institute.
