Biography Jan Griffier I
Griffier trained in landscape painting and printed graphics with Roelant Roghman (ca. 1620-1686). Shortly after in 1666 he moved to London, where he continued his studies at Jan looting (around 1618-1681) continued. 1695 he returned to the Netherlands, but suffered on his return shipwreck off the Dutch coast. Ten years later, he again returned to London to settle down final. He gained notoriety in addition to his engraving works, especially for his views of London and by Rhine and Moselle landscapes.
