Louise Parsons was born in 1915 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William E. and Myra (Matthews) Parsons. She attended the Girls Latin School in Chicago and the Holmquist School at New Hope, Pennsylvania. From 1933 to 1935, Louise studied portraiture at the Yale School of Fine Arts in New Haven, Connecticut.
In 1936, she married the late Francis R. Stanton, Architect. In Chicago she studied with the Russian Sculptor Alexander Archipenko and attended night classes at the Institute of Design. During the summers from 1945 to 1985, the Stantons vacationed at Aspen, Colorado, and the mountain environment had a significant influence on her w
