Born in Visalia, CA in 1876. Johnson spent most of his life as a resident of San Francisco where he designed city schools and other public buildings. In his leisure he painted landscapes and scenes of the
San Francisco Bay area. His last years were spent across the bay in Berkeley and Oakland. He died in the latter on Jan. 19, 1939.
