Sandro Sergi was born in Venice, Italy in 1922. He first
trained at Ercole Sibellato's school and later studied with such masters
as Cadorin, De Luigi, Saetti and Guidi. He next worked at the Venetian Labor Institute with the architect Carlo Scarpa. His artistic career began in the 1940s; his first success was as an illustrator and later, as a painter.
