Charles Tatsuji Morimoto was born in Okayama, Japan on July 8, 1882. Morimoto studied at the Otis Art Institute while a resident of Los Angeles in the 1920s and 1930s. By 1941 he had moved to Shoshone, ID and was working at the Boston Cafe. He died in Pocatello, ID in May 1974.
