Biography Juan Davo
Born and raised at Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, Davo studied art in Madrid. He became an advertising artist and illustrator for commercial companies in the Canary Islands for twenty years before moving to Puerto Rico where he resided for six years. He moved to Seattle, Washington from Puerto Rico to manage the Puerto Rico Pavilion at Century 21, Seattle World's Fair in 1962.
He was involved with producing commercial illustrations advertising the fair and also painted backdrops for the dance performances at the Spanish Pavilion. He collaborated with D.I. Wolf creating twelve plexiglass panels based on "Jewels of the World", representing the twelve signs of the Zodiac. This was installed at the Seattle World's Fair.
