William Allison

William Merle Allison was active/lived in New York, Kansas, Illinois.  William Allison is known for frontier millitary genre, cowboy, western illustration, comic.

Biography   William Allison

Bill Allison worked as a comic book artist during the 1930s and 1940s, doing art on mostly western features.  Educated at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, he did advertising art during the 1920s. 

He illustrated features for Centaur Comics, such as Ace and Deuce, Blood and Iron, Jane and Johnny and Rustler Hunt.  He drew Chameleon, Dan'l Flannel and Target and the Targeteers for Novelty Comics, Texas Tyler for Harve Comics, Captain Bill of the Rangers for National/DC, and did contributions to D.S. Publishing (Outlaws), Parents' Magazine Press (True Comics) and Rural Home (Blue Circle).  He was also the artist of the promotional comic Tom Mix for Ralston's.<   ...  Displaying 750 of 3210 characters.
