Biography Christopher Blossom
Recognized as a marine painter, Christopher Blossom later added western landscapes to his repertoire and in 1989 was invited to show with the National Academy of Western Art at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. In 1992, he became a NAWA member.
He followed in the footsteps of both his father, Earl, and grandfather, David, by becoming a commercial artist. He studied illustration at the Parsons School of Design in New York and worked in an industrial design studio, learning to interpret blueprints, which has served him well when studying old ships. He worked as a freelance illustrator of books and magazines but wanted out of New York: "I went crazy with all the tall buildings in New York" (Art of the West 11/98).
