“Retired School Teacher Dies. A teacher in Paso Robles schools for 29 years, retiring just last year, Mrs. Edna Spicer Phillips, age 62, died at the Paso Robles Memorial Hospital last night following a short illness. Born February 21, 1891, in Carthage, N.Y., Mrs. Phillips came to Paso Robles in 1922 and worked at the Bell store. She went on to finish her higher education, attending Stanford and UCLA, and obtained her California teacher’s credentials. She taught in the Paso school system a total of 29 years, retiring in 1952. Interests in art.
