Edward McGehee Muse was active/lived in California, Louisiana.  Edward Muse is known for painting, commercial art.

Biography   Edward McGehee Muse

Born in Greensburg, LA on Jan. 8, 1874. Muse studied at the ASL and Academy of Industrial Design in NYC and in Paris. He came to California in 1904 and worked as a freelance artist in San Francisco and Stockton. From 1918-42 he worked for the California Highway Division in Sacramento. He designed the official emblem for the California State Employees Ass'n as well as official seals for seven of the state's departments including the DMV and CHP. Muse died in Sacramento on Jan. 3, 1944. His painting forte was wild life. In: State Capitol Rotunda, Sacramento (Fawn and Doe).
