Fannie Saperstein (March 18, 1896 - June 10, 1995)

Painter in oil, casein, and watercolor.  Born in New York to Rachel (1867-1939) and Herman Saperstein (1867-1938).  Her father was a cigar maker with his own store.  Both her parents were of the Jewish faith and they and her oldest sibling, Hannah, were born in the Russian Empire.  The family came to America in the late 1880s and made their home first on East 56th Street in Manhattan, then on East 119th Street, and later on East 146th Street in the Bronx, New York.
