Biography Frank Goodwin (Sandy) Sanford
A landscape painter and school teacher, Frank Sanford had taught manual training in leather goods at Chautauqua, New York and then lived in from Maine, where he owned Sandy's Camp near Harrison. Looking for an economical place to live, he spent much time in St. Augustine, Florida, beginning the winter of 1949. On this first visit, he brought only his watercolors, thinking he would not be staying long, but he stayed the entire winter and from that time came back often.
He was a member of the Art Association and had work in many of its exhibitions.
