Biography George Thomas Croskey
George Thomas Croskey was born on December 27,1917 in Kansas City, Missouri. He received a BFA from Park University in Parkville, Mo. in 1940. In 1941 at the outbrake of WWII he joined the US Army where he served in the European Theatre from 1941-1945.
His experiences and personnel narratives during the war have been recorded for the Veterans History Project, American Folklife Center, Library of Congress. After the war Croskey attended the Kansas City Art Institute where he received his MFA in Painting in 1954. Mr. Croskey taught art in Parkville, Mo. and Portland, Ore.
He was a recipient of the Newcomer Prize from the Kansas City Art Institute. In 2004, he donated 40 pieces of his art collection to Park Unive
