Hans Quade was born in East Germany and trained as a porcelain painter. At age 18 he escaped to West Germany to become a landscape artist but instead became fascinated with television. He acquired a Film Maker Apprenticeship for 2 years and furthered his career by relocating to the United States at age 20 and learning English from TV's 'Gunsmoke.
Hans worked as a cameraman and worked for 40 years in the news industry. During his travels, Hans fell in love with the magnificent beauty of Arizona and the Southwest. He retired in 1999 when he moved to Arizona and is known for his Southwest landscapes working in oils using brushes, fingers and pallete knife.
