Born in San Francisco, CA on April 12, 1871, Laura Foster began as a newspaper artist in her native city. Following the earthquake of 1906, she settled in NYC where she found success as an illustrator for Life, Saturday Evening Post, Judge
, and other national publications.
Soon after arriving in NYC she married Donald Monroe.
While on an extended visit in San Francisco, she died suddenly on Sept. 21, 1920. .
