Leandro Izaguirre, native of Mexico, lived from 1867 to 1941.
Leandro was an outstanding student (starting in 1884) and later also professor of the Academy of San Carlos.
Throughout his career he participated in several painting competitions, being awarded a first prize in 1891.
Later, he traveled to various countries in Europe and on his return he was appointed master of drawing at the San Carlos Academy.
He passed away in 1941.
