Biography Patsy Santo
Patsy Santo, known for bucolic snow-scene painting, emigrated to America from Italy in 1913, and settled in Vermont. He took several jobs including housepainting and railroad work, and as a result of one of his house painting jobs, which required some decoration, he made his first artistic effort. However, quite a few years passed before he devoted much time to being creative artistically.
In 1937, his painting entry took first prize at the 1937 state fair in Rutland, Vermont. This recognition led to him getting a patron and inspired him to start painting in earnest and entering further exhibitions.
