From The Mayville News, October 5, 1938:

"Adolph Philipp was born in Mayville, Wisconsin on April 3, 1854.  His parents were pioneer settlers of this city and the father conducted a furniture factory here for many years.

Mr. Philipp was an artist of considerable talent, and spent all of his life at wood-carving and painting, in addition to being interested in the manufacture of furniture.

His wife, the former Theresa Bahl, also a pioneer resident of this community, preceded the husband in death five years ago.  After their marriage they resided here for a short time, and then moved to Wauwatosa.

Surviving are the children, Miss Lavinia Philipp, at home, Hogarth Philipp, and Mrs. George Snyder, al  ...  Displaying 750 of 915 characters.
