David Sander (1923 - 2001) was active/lived in Indiana, Illinois.  David Sander is known for Landscape, illustration.

Born in Chicago in 1923, David Sander lived in the Indiana dunes and published "Dunes Country Magazine".  He was also the founder of the Chesterton Art Fair that decades later remain a major annual summertime attraction.

He began painting at age ten and eventually attended the University of Wisconsin.  His works such as Chutzpah at Noon were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and today are part of the art collections of Valparaiso, Indiana and Purdue Universities.

David also ran a coffeehouse for a number of years in Porter, Indiana, which was a forum for artists and bohemians during the sixties until 1973.  The Northern Indiana Art Association hosted a retrospective of his work in the fall 2002 at their center in Munster.
