A painter known for her bluebonnet landscapes of Texas as well as southwest scenes with cacti and still lifes, Eugenia Pool was born in Cameron, Texas and trained at the Ursuline Convent in Galveston and in music at Baylor Female College in Belton, Texas. In 1899, she maried Alva Pool, and they lived in Big Springs and Abiline.
In 1923, Pool went to Santa Fe where she was a student of Olive Rush. She also studied with Frederic Brown, Jose Arpa, Anthony De Young and Dawson Dawson-Watson and in New York, likely at Grand Central Galleries, with Victor Julius.
In 1967, she died in Roswell, New Mexico, where she had moved in 1948.
