Francis Sydney Muschamp

Muschamp was strongly influenced by Neo-Classicism and especially by the artists Frederic Leighton and Lawrence Alma-Tadema.  Fascinated by the past and literature (particularly Shakespearean), many of his works display Classical and Baroque motives as well as literary inspired topics, e.g. The Merchant of Venice or Ivanhoe.
