Lorna Napanangka is active/lives in Australia. Lorna Napanangka is known for Aboriginal art.
Lorna is the daughter of the famous Timmy Payungka Tjapangati. Her second husband (the first is dead) is Billy Ward Tjupurrula, hence her nickname Ward who avoids confusion with Lorna Brown Napanangka. She began painting in 1996 with other women pintupis. His style is very precise, most often small white dots forming as short straight lines on a black background painted with great care. This theme evokes the Marrapinti Women's Ancestors making the sticks that the initiates sometimes put themselves through the nasal septum. She has had several solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries and can be considered one of the leaders of her generation.
