Macario Pascual was born in the Philippines and immigrated to Hawaii at the age of five with his mother, joining his father who went earlier to work on a sugar plantation. While a senior in high school, Macario was awarded his first solo exhibition by the Lahaina Society of Art. After graduating from the University of Hawaii, he received many commissions, including the 75th Filippino Anniversary Commemoration in 1981 by the State of Hawaii.
He has won many awards in juried shows, such as one for the top oil painting in the prestigious National Exhibition of Contemporary Realism in Springfield, Massachusetts.
