Muller studied at the art school in Weimar with Karl Gussow and Theodor Hagen. From 1876-79, he studied at the Munich Akad. The artist went on study trips to Algiers, Italy, and Poland.
Peter Paul Muller was a Member of the Reich Association of Artists of Germany, the Munich Artists' Association, and the "Luitpold group". Muller was additionally charged with exhibitions in Munich glass Palace.
He became a temporary resident in Gauting near Munich, and was later active in Munich and in Unterhaching near Munich.
